The Perthshire Society of Natural Science (PSNS) was established in Perth in 1867 to stimulate and encourage interest and exploration of our shire: “ …the elucidation of the Fauna and Flora, Geology and Topography, of the area to which its labours have been devoted, and to the practical education of the rising generation” (J. A Harvie-Brown 1906).

The Society functions under a Council and three Sections:

All talks and workshops are held in the AK Bell Library, Perth.  Throughout the winter the PSNS provides the Curious Minds lecture series which offers a tremendous range of up-to-the-minute lectures from leading experts from diverse fields. The PSNS has always sought to support, record and preserve projects in the heritage of Perthshire, its most recent being the Perth Charterhouse Project.
