A new database on Hanseatic Trade

HANSdoc is a new database containing primary sources on German trade with the North Atlantic.

HANSdoc, a database containing primary sources pertaining to the German trade with the North Atlantic islands Iceland, Shetland and the Faroes in the 15th-17th centuries, has been launched.  It is the result of the research project led by Dr Natascha Mehler, Visiting Reader at the Institute for Northern Studies, and contains almost 1000 historical documents. This makes the database a treasure trove for economic and maritime historians, genealogists and students of local history.  The database link can be found on Dr Mehler's page, and is also here.
