Alastair was elected as Chair of Court by the staff and students of the university in 2021. Prior to that he served as Chairman and Pro chancellor of Teesside University for eight years.
Alastair currently operates a portfolio of non executive and consultancy roles. Largely in the media, tech and education sectors.
The earlier part of his career was spent leading daily newspaper, multi media and publishing businesses across the UK. More recently, founding an influential business services group which he then led as CEO and Chair.
He lives in the Southern Highlands and is passionate about using education and leadership to transform lives, communities and economies.
