This one hour briefing session will provide an overview for mentors registered on the Learning and Teaching Enhancement strand of the University Mentoring Scheme.

The session is open to anyone who is mentoring colleagues on the Learning and Teaching Enhancement Strand or is considering mentoring on the strand.

Session Outline

Ann Tilbury, Lead for the Learning and Teaching Enhancement Strand will explain how mentors and mentees are matched, the mentoring timeline, and the expectations and support available to mentors.  Ann also welcomes any questions or concerns from those beginning a mentoring pairing or those who have already mentored on the strand.

In April 2018 Ann joined the Learning and Teaching Academy with a remit to take forward learning and teaching professional development.  This includes leading on the learning and teaching enhancement strand of the mentoring scheme; taking forward the engagement with academic partner colleges to support learning and teaching enhancement and the implementation of the graduate attributes. 

 

Ann is interested in leadership theory and practice particularly in the tertiary education sector.  She  completed a Masters in Leadership and Management in 2015 and a Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Tertiary Education in 2016. She is a Senior Fellow of the HEA and has mentored others to gain accreditation.
