Biography

Dr Seán McLaughlin is Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) in Popular Music. His PhD thesis looked at professional Scottish folk music and ideology and he is currently a researcher in popular music education. He has experience as external examiner for many UK higher education institutions delivering popular music. He is a former board member of the International Association for the Study of Popular Music and currently sits on the editorial board for the Journal of Popular Music Education. He is an active performer and songwriter.
