Psychometric tests are increasingly being used by employers as part of the application process. Many are now asking candidates to complete tests even before they assess your application form. These may be ability tests e.g. numerical, verbal and inductive (educated / informed reasoning based on the information or data that you have) or they may be testing a candidate's ‘fit’ to the company by assessing motivation, values, personality and behaviours.

Assessment Centres are used by a variety of employers to recruit graduates but more often used within larger organisations. Their core purpose is to create an environment in which you, along with other candidates, demonstrate key workplace skills. These include communication, teamwork, problem-solving, task management and leadership. These are assessed through activities like group work, presentations, case studies and role play.
