High Life Highland and UHI have agreed a corporate partnership to provide discounted leisure membership for students and staff of the University. High Life Highland leisure centres, community centres, and community schools offer a range of leisure facilities. High Life Highland leisure facilities are available at:

Alness Swimming Pool, Averon Leisure Centre (Alness), Aviemore Community Centre, Badenoch Leisure Centre (Kingussie), Black Isle Leisure Centre (Fortrose), Craig Maclean Leisure Centre (Grantown on Spey), Culloden Academy Community Centre, Dingwall Leisure Centre, East Caithness Community Facility (Wick), Evanton Sports Centre, The Fingal Centre (Portree), Gairloch Leisure Centre, Golspie / Sutherland Swimming Pool, Invergordon Leisure Centre, Inverness Leisure, Inverness Royal Academy Sports Centre, Lochaber Leisure Centre (Fort William), Lochbroom Leisure Centre (Ullapool), Nairn Leisure Centre, North Coast Leisure Centre (Bettyhill), Poolewe Swimming Pool,, Thurso Leisure Centre, and Tain Royal Academy Community Complex (TRACC).

Discounts

The corporate membership allows students and staff of UHI (including academic partners) to gain discounts off High Life memberships. Discounts are as follows:

  • 30% off student memberships
  • 10% off student family memberships
  • 10% off staff individual and family memberships

Our partnership with High Life Highland (HLH) also now offers discounts at many businesses, shops and attractions. Discounts are available with both the paid HLH card (detailed above), and the free version of the card which may be used in HLH libraries. Find out about these discounts

Highlife Highland libraries partnership

Free Highlife Highland Libraries Card

Highlife Highland also operate a network of over 50 community and mobile libraries throughout the Highland region. They offer a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books, e-books, CDs, digital magazines and more! Reading for leisure supports wellbeing and is a great stress – reducer. UHI and Highlife Highland are working together to promote the use of our region’s libraries amongst the student and staff body of UHI. To use the library service, simply visit the Highlife Highland libraries webpage, complete the application form and take it along to your nearest Highlife library. Your Libraries Highlife card may also be upgraded to a paid membership if you wish to start using the leisure centres.

Live Active fitness memberships

UHI also has an agreement with Live Active for students in the Perthshire area. Live Active operate a number of fitness facilities in Perthshire.

If you are a full time student of UHI, you are entitled to a concession rate on memberships and pay and play prices. In order to claim the concession rate simply take your student ID card to one of the leisure centres.

UHI Perth staff may also obtain a discounted rate on fitness memberships through the corporate membership scheme. To take advantage of this discount, take proof of employment to a Life Active leisure centre when setting up or renewing your fitness membership.
