Counselling is not an emergency or crisis service, if you are in crisis help can be found on our 'I'm in crisis' page.
Counselling offers a safe confidential space to discuss issues troubling you with a supportive and qualified professional. Most Academic Partners have their own inhouse student counselling service. Where an inhouse service is not available you may be referred to an external local counselling service. Our UHI online service offers counselling in a variety of formats such as webcam, instant messaging, telephone and email. This service is also available to all students.
Academic Partners and the online service offer short term therapy, up to 6 sessions, with the length of each session usually 50 minutes. Some of our partners work within a one at a time therapy model.
